Why is There No Urge to Urinate When Suffering From Prostatitis

Prostatitis can enlarge the prostate gland and compress the posterior urethra, causing abnormal urination, such as frequent urination and urgency. If there is a bacterial infection, it will cause congestion, edema, and increased sensitivity of the bladder mucosa, resulting in no urge to urinate.

For patients with acute prostatitis or acute attacks of chronic prostatitis, symptoms such as chills and fever are usually accompanied, and obvious clinical manifestations may also appear, such as affecting the lower urinary tract, manifested as frequent urination, urgency, and pain during urination. As the disease progresses, it can also affect all systems of the body and even cause the occurrence of sepsis, leading to no urge to urinate.

Generally speaking, it may be related to temporary absence of disease onset, improper treatment, and concurrent cystitis. It is recommended that patients take corresponding therapy for different reasons.

1. The disease has not yet occurred

When prostatitis occurs due to inflammatory stimulation, it will lead to swelling of the prostate and compression of the urethra, resulting in urethral stricture and urinary sensation.

However, since the disease has not yet occurred, there is no urinary sensation. For this situation, it is generally recommended that patients use medication such as amoxicillin, cefuroxime, etc., under the guidance of a doctor.

1. Improper treatment

During the treatment, if the patient does not follow the doctor's advice to take medication on time and in the appropriate amount or privately change the dose, it may affect the effect, leading to recurrent disease and resulting in no urge to urinate. It is suggested that patients should strictly follow the doctor's advice and avoid privately changing the dosage of drugs so as not to affect the therapeutic effect.

2. Concurrent cystitis

If prostatitis is combined with cystitis, it may also lead to symptoms such as no sense of urination, frequent urination, and urgency, which may be related to the condition not being controlled in time. In this situation, it is recommended that patients follow the doctor's advice to use drugs such as levofloxacin hydrochloride, Ceftriaxone sodium, etc.

How to solve it?

1. Drug treatment: under the guidance of doctors, anti-inflammatory drugs such as ciprofloxacin hydrochloride tablets and cefixime capsules can be used. If the condition still does not improve, Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill can be taken to achieve the effect of clearing heat, detoxifying, diuresis, and relieving gonorrhea.

2. Physical therapy: For example, warm water sitz baths or microwave therapy can promote local blood circulation, accelerate inflammation resolution, and alleviate pain, congestion, edema, and other conditions, but they need to be strictly operated by professional physicians.

3. Surgical treatment: If the methods above are not effective, surgical methods such as prostate puncture and drainage may be necessary.

In terms of prostate maintenance, it is recommended that everyone do the following four things well:

1. Drink more water and urinate more

Ensuring to drink adequate water often helps relieve symptoms of prostatitis. It can also dilute urine and reduce the irritation of urine.

2. Have a regular sexual life

Avoid unclean sexual activity, endure ejaculation, and frequent masturbation.

3. Stop smoking and drinking, and avoid spicy food.

Both smoking and alcohol can lower the body's immune system, making it more susceptible to bacterial invasion and leading to recurrent inflammation.

4. Maintain a good mood and engage in appropriate physical exercise

Due to the influence of anxiety or depression, it may also affect normal urination. It is recommended that patients engage in appropriate physical exercise to maintain a pleasant mood.

Common exercises include jogging, walking, Tai Chi, swimming, etc. However, it is not recommended for patients to ride a bicycle for a long time. Long-term cycling may compress the prostate, aggravate prostate congestion and edema, and aggravate symptoms of prostatitis.
