Symptoms of BPH:
 
1.Urinate more than usual. Patients have a frequent need to urinate during the day and night.

3.Urinary incontinence at night. When sleeping at night, the urine will come out uncontrolledly. Severe patients will also have the condition during the day.

Self-care for BPH: 
 
1.Pay attention to the diet.  
Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking. Eating less spicy and sweet foods. It’s helpful to increase the intake of vegetables, fruits, soy products, and whole grains. Drinking plenty of water every day is also of benefits, which can prevent urinary track infection.  
 
2.Don’t hold urine. 
Go to the bathroom immediately when you have an urge to urinate. Holding urine is harmful to the bladder and prostate.
 
3.Keep the perineum clean.  
Cleaning the perineum is an important part to manage the symptoms of BPH. Patients should clean these areas with warm water. It can help to relieve the tension of muscles and prostate.
 
4.Regular sexual life.  
Excessive sexual life will cause long-term prostate congestion, which will worsening the symptoms of BPH. However, abstain from sex will cause discomfort in prostate. Therefore, patients should keep a regular sexual life.
